Bag cross stitch
I finally have something finished that I think might be worth sharing with everyone!
I made this bag for an absolutely wonderful friend of mine, who despite her best efforts, always seems to be carrying way more than she anticipated. I figure, it works just as good as a random Paper Store or Target bag —that we are all guilty of grabbing in a pinch—but has just a little more flair 💁🏻♀️
I have to say, stitching on burlap with a protective coating inside was quite the adventure. All in all, it took probably twice the amount of time it would have taken me on aida. Between piercing the plastic and having really adjust the fabric with each stitch in order to keep the pattern straight; I put it down a lot…
I think it was worth it in the end; I poured so much love into this project. It’s the first big gift I’ve ever made for someone, so I really, really hope she likes it!
P.S. I posted a photo of the back, for all of you nosy people like me. It looks like the work of a psychopath, hence the silk liner I finished it with!
